Located in the southwest of Shandong Province, Qufu is the hometown of the great Chinese philosopher and educator - Confucius. Also the city enjoys a long history, which served as the capital of the State of Lu during the Spring and Autumn Period. In 1982, it was released as the first historical and cultural city by the State Councils, and known as "the East Jerusalem" in the West.
